The Beatles: HEY, GOT $15 TO WASTE?

StreamingOldiesMusic

Shocking New Documentary Proves It!!

And I Am The King Of England

Remember the rumor that swept the music world in 1969? Paul McCartney was dead.

So-called proof that the Beatle had been decapitated in a 1966 car crash came in the form of clues allegedly planted by the surviving Beatles in their songs and album cover art.

You’d think that after countless McCartney solo tours and albums, the Paul Is Dead conspiracy theory would not have a single believer outside a mental asylum.

No such luck.

More than 40 years after McCartney asserted he was very much alive in a Life magazine cover story, Los Angeles-based documentary filmmaker Joel Gilbert is attempting to cast doubt on his existence with a DVD, set for Aug. 24 release, called Paul McCartney Really Is Dead: The Last Testament of George Harrison.

"About 10 years ago I became familiar with the Paul Is Dead urban legend," Gilbert says. "Friends showed me some clues on some of the album covers and I thought it was pretty fascinating. I remember thinking that it can't all be coincidence. But I didn't really think too much further."

But during the summer of 2005, a package was delivered to the Hollywood offices of Highway 61 Entertainment from London with no return address. The package contained two cassettes dated December 30, 1999 with the label, The Last Testament Of George Harrison. A voice purporting to be George Harrison tells the story of the death of Paul McCartney and the long cover-up. The cassettes narration is overlaid against a montage of Beatles clips and stories which are used to support the McCartney is dead theory.

Harrison, it is claimed, wanted to come clean about McCartney's death and the Beatles' role in its cover-up and recorded this testament while he was recovering from a stabbing during a 1999 home invasion. He explains that after Paul died in a car crash, British military intelligence feared that the country's female teens would commit mass suicide if they learned that the "cutest" Beatle was dead. And so a surgically altered body double named William Campbell was brought in begin the most amazing hoax in music history!

Well, there’s the first problem with this insipid piece of garbage. Inasmuch as George was nearly stabbed to death by an intruder during the early morning hours of December 30, 1999 – the SAME date the tapes were allegedly recorded, it is highly unlikely he spent the next few hours – fighting for his life, mind you – dictating his remorse over his part in the Paul Is Dead controversy. I imagine trying to breathe with a punctured lung would have been his first priority.

The DVD claims British intelligence forced the Beatles to cover up McCartney's death to prevent mass suicides of Beatle fans. However, the remaining Beatles tried to signal fans with clues on album covers and in songs.

Hold on!!! If the Beatles had tried to "signal fans" with clues, why didn't they just come out and spill the beans AFTER the band broke up? The John Lennon-Paul McCartney feud following the end of the band was as intense and nasty a mess as the music world had ever seen but John kept his mouth shut about the fake Paul?

But wait! The film further states a dangerous cat and mouse game with "Maxwell" – the Beatles' British Intelligence handler – as John Lennon became increasingly reckless with the secret. The voice also claims that Lennon was assassinated in 1980 after he threatened to finally expose "Paul McCartney" as a fraud!

Well there you go. That's why John had kept quiet all those years. He didn't want to die, but suddenly in 1980, he must have stopped giving a damn because sure enough, he was shot. Gee, I wonder what made him change his mind. Maybe Yoko put him up to it. You know, the inheritance thing and all.

Gilbert's documentary suggests Harrison believed that fake Paul's wife, Linda Eastman McCartney, knew Campbell was a phony and extorted him into marrying her and putting her in his band Wings. And get this! Gilbert also says that fake Paul's future ex-wife Heather Mills witnessed the real Paul's fatal crash.

Gilbert is not big on details. This one is a BIG problem. Heather Mills was born in 1968 but somehow she managed to witness Paul's fatal car crash two years before she was born!

It's hard to believe but there are reviewers out there who actually have swallowed this crap; hook, line and sinker:

If any cassette tapes deserve to become known as the "Zapruder films of audio recordings," it's these.
Arsenio Orteza - World Magazine

Do not watch this chilling and disturbing documentary late at night, or you may find yourself running screaming through your house in a state of panic, making calls to the police and friends. Yes, it is that scary.
Brian Uecker - Amazon.com

(This) may be one of the most compelling things I've seen in years! The production on this is top notch all the way around, interesting graphics, video clips, photos, narrations and an impressive editing job - I've yet to see a film that covers this controversial subject as complete and thorough as presented here.
Bonedigger - horrornews.net

One reviewer wasn't fooled.

Paul McCartney Really Is Dead: The Last Testament Of George Harrison was a waste of 95 minutes of my life, which is time that can never be recovered. I kept waiting for someone to pop up and tell me this was all an April Fools joke even though we are nowhere near April First.
David Bowling – Blogcritics.org

I haven't even mentioned the fact that "George" sounds no more like George Harrison than I do … and I don't sound like Harrison at all.

Watch the trailer … and judge for yourself.
