Forty-three years after the fact, it is still easy for Beatle fans to recall April 10, 1970. It was the day Paul McCartney announced he was leaving the band.
Many (if not most) blamed Yoko Ono for the breakup of the band but the reality is McCartney's announcement was actually the culmination of three years of constant bickering and resentment between the members of the band.
In retrospect, it is quite easy to determine the event that really caused McCartney to turn his back on The Beatles.

The Beatles: LOOKING BACK AT A CRITIC'S REVIEW
This Album Sucked! 1969 Review: "Pompous and Fake"
Ignore the fact that Abbey Road was voted 14th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" in 2012. And please, ignore the 4 million copies sold within the first six weeks of its release in 1969 and the seventeen weeks the album spent at #1.
Look inside to read a flashback scathing review of the album by a celebrated "rock journalist" and while you're there, familiarize yourself with his (lack of) credibility.
